AlternativeFinishes, Inc, has been servicing Greater Atlanta Automobile Dealerships with high quality and economical auto cosmetic services since 1995. As technologies evolve, we stay committed to researching and implementing the best ways to service our clientele. We are owned and operated by a small team of friends that focus on giving you a fair price alternative to traditional shop repairs. We also partner with top notch tradesmen in Atlanta to round out our team and offer a one stop shop for our customers.

In more recent years, we have fleshed out our niche in PPF (Paint Protection Film) and Ceramic Coatings. We exclusively use Xpel products and our entire team of installers is Xpel certified. We have two secured, climate controlled, shops in Atlanta for you to choose from.

Meet The Team

Michael Christie
Owner / Operator

Started the business in 1995 doing cosmetic repairs for auto dealerships around Atlanta. Today he tries to stay out of the rest of the guys’ way and gets them all paid on time, most of the time. When you fill out a contact form, chances are this is who you’ll get a call from. Enjoys short walks on the beach and long walks on the golf course...and Bourbon...ask him nice and you might get a sample from the vault.
Jamie Cunningham
Owner / Operator

Joined forces with Michael in 1998. Worked in and around the car business in the Atlanta area since he was a wee lad, always specializing in paint protection and refinishing. If Michael doesn’t call you, Jamie will. Assistant to the Regional Manager, Multiple Dundee award winner, and Chili’s afficiando. 
Kevin Mizell
Operation Management 

What can we say? First, an average male is 5'9" tall, don't forget it. Then, Kevin has been the latest addition to the superstars that keep this train moving. Keeping all the guys in line is a tough job, and nobody is gonna do it. But at least Kevin tries. A new daddy as of Feb 2020, he tends to spend most of his time lately showing us baby pics. When does that tend to end? Just curious, asking for a friend.

Jonathan Philip Scibetta 'JP'
Cosmetic Repair Tech / Onsite Manager

The good looking one; If we had a face of the company - this would be it. Was a sub contractor for us until we just had to have his skills full time. Leader in quality control, JP makes sure your car looks its very best and fights to always have the best tools and supplies, no matter the cost. Hobbies include keeping up with the most recent developments in facial moisturizer technology and eating small meals 127 times per day.
Aaron Smoker
Cosmetic Repair Tech / Offsite Manager

The early riser. If we are getting texts before 7 am, we know who’s sending them. Aaron and Michael grew up together and have been in the industry together since the early 90’s. Aaron manages recon programs at multiple stores and manages our vendor partners.
Brian Payne
PPF Tech

Anything but a 'payne' for us - Brian moved from paint to ppf in 2024.  Frankly, we are all jealous that things come so easily to him.  Whatever a vehicle needs, Brian seems to be able to figure out how to do it.  Proud papa and literally the nicest person on our whole team! (Not sure if that's anything to brag about tho)
Alex Cowsill
Cosmetic Repair Tech

Becoming a Jack of All Trades here at AFI, Alex is now trying his hand in the paint side of the biz...and what great hands he has!  Proud member of the 'backwards hat club'.  If you've got paint repairs needed...he's got the surgeons touch to get it right.
Aaron Smoker
Cosmetic Repair Tech / Offsite Manager

With us since 2015, Collin has been groomed to take over the world. At the moment though, he’s doing his very best to make sure your world has a nice looking car in it. Like Aaron, he’s an early riser, just not by choice. The crack of dawn gets him going…

Shaylen has two weird names, his first and his last. But don’t let that fool you, he’s one cool, motorcycle ridin’, music playin’, hipster hat wearing cat. We call him the “good and faithful”. Plus every good auto refinishing company has to have someone from Florida…Danka, Shay

The other Michael…came to us after several years in the cosmetic repair industry and took to PPF installation like Dwight took to beets. (If you haven’t gotten the Office references thus far…we’re sorry). Our in-house true auto fanatic, he knows every engine, part, obscure reference, etc…to all makes and models. He’s our car geek, and we love that about him.

Affectionately known as "Beast Mode", Shane is dedicated to making sure our customers receive the best and fastest possible wheel repairs for their automotive babies. When he shaves his beard, we think he loses his power... 
Jamin Saar
Painter Extraordinaire 

Have you ever seen better facial hair? We haven't. We worry about losing Jamin to Vidal Sassoon magazine someday.  In the meantime, Jamin works his refinish magic on the most expensive of vehicles every day. (Humble brag...)
Jack Smoker
Wheel Repair Tech

Multiple M.O.M. winner (Man Of the Month), Jack proudly rubs our face in his wins every time.  We'd get mad, but he's just so good at his job! While he doesn't like to admit Aaron is his dad, we are happy the work ethic runs in the family as Jack keeps our wheel department on a tight leash and running at peak efficiency! 
Jesus Salgado

Jeremy Howard

Jeremy is the grease in the wheels.  That's a compliment by the way!  Always the first to the shop, he gets the day set up and ready for the team.  We couldn't do it without him! Father of 5, devoted husband and all around great guy - we love having him on the team!
Julian Cunningham

Like a rare bird, we had to scour to find actual footage of Julian.  Not one for passport photo op's, we had to sneak a pic of the quasi master (is purple belt an actual thing  btw?) in his natural habitat - installing PPF as department sempai.  Heir to the Cunningham empire, in coming years he will be counting the nickels coming his way.
Don Christie
Support Services

Is there anything Don doesn't do? If so, we haven't discovered it yet! Keeping us organized and motivated, Don is invaluable to the entire team.  By some measurements this entire company is his fault - he raised Michael to start with!  Either way, we are happy to have him with us.

Julian Cunningham

Our red-headed youngster, and heir to the Cunningham empire. Julian volunteers 70 hours per month locally; so he only works with us a couple days a week helping out and learning the trade. Has quickly become quite the Chili’s protege under his father, and doing just as well with touchups, bumper repairs, and doing what needs to be done.

The most recent addition to the Alternative Finishes team, Bryan also has experience in the paint and body world. A man of few words that demands respect, once we learn more about him, though…all bets will be off.
